What makes Yu Garden special is its exquisite craftsmanship. The garden is famous for its jade rockery, a massive boulder that is one of the garden's most iconic features. This route connects the garden's highlights, taking about 2-3 hours to experience the elegance of this Ming Dynasty Jiangnan garden.

Route: Main Gate → Dianchun Hall → Grand Rockery → Jade Linglong → Yule Pavilion → Deyue Tower → South Gate → City God Temple

  • Grand Rockery - The iconic landscape designed by Ming Dynasty rockery master Zhang Nanyang. Climb to the top for panoramic views of the entire garden.
  • Dianchun Hall - Once served as the headquarters of the Small Sword Society uprising. Its grand halls and surrounding pavilions create a harmonious blend of architecture and nature.
  • Jade Linglong - One of the "Three Famous Stones of Jiangnan," renowned for its "thinness, wrinkled texture, perforations, and translucency." It's the garden's treasure.
